Veterly (https://veterly.com/) is an intelligent communication and telemedicine platform that helps veterinarians to simplify and make their relationships with customers more efficient, and to help a higher number of users to benefit from animal health services.
Veterly is part of Startup Bakery, ​Startup Studio focused on creating new startups in series.

We are looking for a CTO to be responsible for the technical development of our solution. You will be building and maintaining scalable and reliable architecture and backlog, leading the technical direction of Veterly.

You’ll have the chance to build your own tech team, working closely with Startup Bakery's operating team as well. In fact, the Technology Department in Startup Bakery will provide support in all product strategy implementations, structures and key decisions making processes.

Being in a flexible and fast-changing environment, you will play a critical role in taking strategic choices and will feel the impact of these choices right away, having the opportunity to actively participate in the success of Veterly and achievement of our mission.

Key responsibilities:

• Be responsible of platform development and technical direction, contributing to the development of our core algorithms
• ​Be responsible of all the product key technical decisions
• Coordinate the tech team and third party agencies for software development
• Work closely with the CEO and the board to identify risks and opportunities
• Liaise and collaborate with the Technology Department team in Startup Bakery
• Be accountable for supporting hiring of potential technical members and engineers

Must have:

• Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or relevant fields
• ​6+ Years experience as a Software Engineer/Tech Lead/IT Manager
• Experience taking an early stage projects forward
• Experience with server side languages - we work with Node.js, but we’re also Python/Scala/Java friendly

• Knowledge of SQL and No-SQL databases
• Experience with Cloud Platforms, at least one among AWS, Azure, GCP
• Experience with Software Versioning systems (Git, Svn, etc.)
• Highly organised and able to manage time effectively
• Collaborative and well suited to work in team
• Good written and spoken English

Nice to have:

• Master's Degree, PhD, Certifications or similar
• ​Experience with frontend frameworks like React, Vue, Angular
• Experience with big data and AI projects
• Knowledge of Docker or Kubernetes
• Knowledge of ElasticSearch/Mongo
• Experience as Tech Lead in startups
