Position

Italdesign is looking for a dynamic person, who would be part of the Lab team to develop of electronic system for special automotive projects and series production support.

The lab Specialist define electronic system constraints and requirements, oversee the installation on the vehicle and work cross-functionally on system integration during engineering development, from technology scouting and proof of concept till Series deployment.

Responsibilities

  • Manage the technical relationship with electronics suppliers to deliver new components/systems to the required specification and schedule
  • Demo creation and setup
  • Technical support sample creation and in-vehicle build
  • Travel to suppliers, customer and contract manufacturer sites world-wide to support product development activities
  • Creation of technical report and documentation related to startup
  • Benchmarking & market scanning
  • Manage the integration phase of electronics components into an existing vehicle/platform
  • Respect project milestones based on official time schedule

Requirements

Knowledge of computer systems:

  • Experience in the use of Odis, system42, KVS, Canoe, Canalyzer
  • Knowledge of MS Office package.
  • Knowledge of VW Konzern software tools (KVS, Connect) is appreciated

 

Technical knowledge:

  • Knowledge in problem solving (DTCs solving)
  • Knowledge in reworking harness
  • Knowledge in Inbetriebnahme activities for VW Group projects
  • Knowledge of the main electrical / electronic systems normally present in the cars currently on the market
  • Knowledge programming PLC and rapid prototyping platform (e.g. Arduino, Raspberry)

 

  • Background in Consumer electronics, , Automotive systems
  • Experience in module design and architecture, system integration, test, debugging and analysis
  • Experience with electrical lab equipment for harness reworking and construction
  • 3 years of experience with automotive system development, construction and integration
  • Experience working with soldering and PCB construction
  • Experience in Electronic Rapid prototyping

Other information

  • Education: Master degree in Physics, Electrical Engineering or equivalent practical experience
  • Language skills: Fluent knowledge of written and spoken English and Italian are required. Knowledge of German would be appreciated
  • Workplace: Moncalieri (TO) and availability to travel.
